Be the reason strangers become friends in your city.

Love bringing people together? Volunteer to host YCL meetups in your city. You pick the place and run the event. We handle sign-ups, reminders and promotion.

Your part

  • Pick the place, date, time and what you'll do. Send us 1 to 3 options and we confirm one.
  • Invite as many channel people as you can, and share the ready-made posts for your meetup.
  • On the night, arrive about 20 minutes early. Welcome people and introduce them to each other.
  • Afterward, send us photos.

How we help you

  • We set up the sign-up page and the event page, and send the reminders.
  • We promote your meetup on our socials, by email and in the member group chat.
  • We look for sponsors. Know one? Introduce them and we make the ask.
  • We give you a brand kit: YCL logos and colors, ready-made posts for your meetup, a message to send venues and a run of show for the night.

Time

This is an unpaid volunteer role. Plan on about 2 to 4 hours a month, including the meetup itself. Bigger cities plan on one meetup a month. Smaller cities start every few months. Can only host every few months? Apply anyway. A co-host can share the dates.

We read every application and reply to everyone. If it's a fit, we'll set up a 15-minute call about your city and your first meetup.

Is this a paid role?
No. It's an unpaid volunteer role.
How much time does it take?
About 2 to 4 hours a month, including the meetup itself.
Do I pay for anything?
No. You never sign a contract or pay a bill for YCL. Guests buy their own food and drinks.
Do I need to be a YCL member?
You can apply either way. Joining is free and takes two minutes.
Can I apply from any city?
Yes. Type your city in the form.
How do you pick cities?
We start where the most people apply and the most members live.
What happens if I'm picked?
We set up a 15-minute call about your city. Then we add you as an event lead and you sign in to the Event Lead Hub, where setup takes about 3 minutes. From there, send 1 to 3 options for your first meetup and we confirm the date with you.
